Fatherhood, inheritance, and generational trauma circulate through the cultural lens of Ireland
A family of Irish shepherds wages war on multiple fronts: internal strife, family feuds, rivalry with another farmer.
69th CORK FILM FEST – #3 (PREMIERE + Q&A)A fast-paced revenge film that never has a dull moment that somehow manages to pull off the impossible in my opinion
Paul Meskel and Tom Burke were originally cast in the lead roles, but both dropped out after the project stalled in development and were replaced by Barry Keoghan and Christopher Abbott..
They both do more with their roles than anyone else
The entire cast does a fantastic job, but the standouts have to be Nora-Jane Murphy, Barry Keoghan, and Christopher Abbott (whose accent doesn’t sound real for an American).
They really spoke to me because they are so current in our world right now
The themes of abuse, violence, and the inability to communicate properly are very woven into this.
I am so happy to see this back in general release
