The film is narrated by Miranda Otto as Éowyn, reprising her role from Sir Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings. Rings ” series. The Warner Brothers Animation logo briefly appears in Japanese kanji to pay homage to the anime style of the film.

The dialogue and events from the book are largely the same, with only minor changes to the details
This film is based on a (mostly) one-page story about Helm Hammerhand from Appendix A of the LoTR book (which is a very enjoyable read). The film does a particularly good job of capturing the epic character of Helm Hammerhand as described in the books. However, the Hera introduced in the film does not appear in the books at all, and some of her actions were performed by her cousin Fréaláf in the original work. What many people love about Tolkien’s universe is the simple, pre-industrial, where this simplicity emphasizes the theme of human nature/values and the moral order of the universe.
However, there is nothing to add to this movie
The ‘classic’ movies, there is a lot of wisdom hidden in everyday conversations, such as: “We just have to decide what to do with the time we have.” (LoTR) or “The little things and everyday actions of ordinary people keep the darkness away.” (Hobbit), which I would say are eternal truths about our world, and I sometimes think about these lines even after finishing the movie. It introduces modern themes (feminism) into Tolkien’s world in a way that feels both strange and forced, ultimately undermining Tolkien’s vision and the cause of feminism he is trying to champion. It’s not as bad as RoP, but it’s still noticeable. Of course, it’s not that women can’t do the things shown in the movie, or that the book should be followed exactly.
I’d say it’s worth checking out
It’s just that it’s driven by more than just a love for Tolkien’s work and legacy, and it really shows. But other than that, it’s not a terrible movie.
