Men and women live in a giant silo underground with various regulations that they believe are there to protect them from the toxic and broken world above. Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are what science fiction is all about.

This is an interesting version of the underground bunker story, about people who have survived underground for so long that a civilization has arisen within them with traditions, myths, beliefs, rituals and ceremonies that have their roots in events that have been forgotten, and a social structure is based on the status quo. A power structure is formed that creates a stratified population, both figuratively and literally, from the top to the bottom of the silo.
Good performance by Oyelowo with familiar faces in Rashida Jones and Will Patton
That’s the premise, and while it’s not entirely original (think Snowpiercer, Dark City, etc.), there’s enough novelty here and it seems well-executed for a TV series. (But as you can see on the show’s poster, they are guest stars that will give way to the regular cast starring Rebecca Ferguson.) The show looks pretty decent, with good production values.
There are elaborate sets and good computer special effects to provide a believable atmosphere
Although at first the suspicious mind will pick up on some obvious conspiracies, there are mysteries revealed that will keep me watching.
